Detectives have launched a murder investigation after two men were fatally stabbed in Moss Side.
Police were called to Claremont Road just after 5pm on Thursday, October 6, to reports of a stabbing. Officers attended and found two men, aged 21 and 20, with serious stab wounds.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, both men were sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Their families have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin, of GMP's Major Incident Team, said: "This is a truly awful incident in which two young men have lost their lives and two families have been left torn apart."
"I would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have any information about what happened to please contact us as soon as possible," he added.
"We have a team of detectives working hard to piece together the circumstances surrounding this tragic event and we will do everything we can to bring those responsible to justice.
