McFly star joins the jungle

McFly star Danny Jones has been confirmed as the ninth celebrity to enter the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! jungle in 2024.

The singer and guitarist, 36, will join the likes of Boy George, Sue Cleaver and Mike Tindall in the Australian outback.

Jones is best known for his work with McFly, who have sold over 10 million records worldwide.

Danny Jones was born in Bolton, Greater Manchester, on 12 March 1986.

He began playing guitar at the age of 11 and formed McFly with school friends Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd in 2003.

The band released their debut album, Room on the 3rd Floor, in 2004 and have since released six more studio albums.

Danny Jones married model Georgia Horsley in 2014.

The couple have two children, a son named Cooper Alf Jones and a daughter named Sienna Jones.

Jones is a keen sportsman and enjoys playing football, golf and tennis.

Danny Jones has said that he is doing I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! to challenge himself.

He said: "I'm excited to see how I cope with the challenges and I'm looking forward to meeting the other celebrities."

Jones is also hoping to raise awareness of mental health issues.

He said: "I think it's important to talk about mental health and I hope that by doing this show I can help to break down the stigma."
