Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Raut slams Amit Shah's 'failed' understanding of Maharashtra
Raut's attack on Amit Shah
Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Raut has heavily criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah, alleging that he has a 'failed understanding' of Maharashtra.
In an interview with Saamana, the mouthpiece of the Shiv Sena, Raut said that Shah has "failed to understand the history, culture, and politics of Maharashtra". He added that Shah's recent statements on Maharashtra have "exposed his ignorance" about the state.
Raut's comments come in response to Shah's recent remarks on the law and order situation in Maharashtra.
Shah had said that the law and order situation in Maharashtra has worsened under the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. He had also accused the MVA government of being "soft on terrorism".
Raut hit back at Shah, saying that the law and order situation in Maharashtra has improved under the MVA government. He also accused Shah of trying to "destabilize" the MVA government.
The war of words between Raut and Shah is the latest development in the ongoing political tussle between the BJP and the Shiv Sena.
The two parties have been at loggerheads since the Shiv Sena broke its alliance with the BJP in 2019 and formed the MVA government with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Indian National Congress (INC).
