Sannino elected general secretary of the Filca Cisl of Campania
"We stand by the workers and also by the businesses"
A new secretary general has been elected at the helm of the Filca Cisl of Campania, the trade union representing workers in the construction sector. It is Antonio Sannino, previously general secretary of the Filca Cisl of Caserta, who was elected at the 12th regional congress held in Naples.
Sannino's election comes in a particularly delicate moment for the construction sector, which in Campania, as in the rest of Italy, is facing the challenges of the post-pandemic economic recovery and the need to implement the Pnrr. "We are facing a very delicate moment for the world of work and for the construction sector in particular", Sannino commented after his election, "we are therefore called upon to face the challenges that await us with unity and determination".
Among the priorities of the new general secretary are the fight against undeclared work, the safety of workers and the enhancement of professional skills. "We want to be a point of reference for workers and businesses in the sector", added Sannino, "we want to work to improve the working conditions of our workers and to support companies in their growth and development".
Sannino, 54 years old, from Caserta, has been active in the trade union for over 30 years. He held various positions within the Filca Cisl of Caserta, until he was elected general secretary in 2016. He is also a member of the national secretariat of the Filca Cisl.
