Lilt, charity from the "Pigiama run" to Casa Amoris Laetitia
The kindness of the "Pigiama run" gives a smile to the "Casa Amoris Laetitia"
The event raised over 6,000 euros, which were donated to the Don Orione house
The beneficiaries of the collection will be the boys and girls who live in the "House of Love and Joy", a home for minors who are followed by the judicial authority or by the social services of the Municipality of Treviso. The "Pigiama run", a non-competitive race with a charitable purpose, was held on November 27th. The event was organized by the Treviso Marathon Club. The proceeds from the entrance fees, over 6,000 euros, were donated to the "Casa Amoris Laetitia" of the Don Orione Institute in Treviso.
The "Pigiama run" is an opportunity to be together, have fun and do good. Running while wearing pajamas at the end of November is not for everyone, but it is a good way to raise awareness of the needs of those who are less fortunate than ourselves. The symbolic value of running in pajamas is precisely this: to show that we are all the same, that we are all fragile and that we all need help and support.
The "Casa Amoris Laetitia" is a home for minors who are followed by the judicial authority or by the social services of the Municipality of Treviso. The structure offers shelter, food and support to the boys and girls who live there. The proceeds from the "Pigiama run" will be used to purchase a new van to transport the children to school, to sports activities and to the various appointments they need to attend.
The "Pigiama run" is not just a race, it is an act of solidarity and love. An opportunity to help those who are less fortunate than ourselves and to make a difference in their lives. Thanks to all those who participated and made this possible.
