Thousands of fans have paid tribute to Sarah Harding by watching a special film at London's Natural History Museum.

Stars including Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts came together to remember their Girls Aloud bandmate and close friend, who died of breast cancer last September aged just 39.

The 90-minute film, titled Remember Sarah: The Celebration, was released to mark what would have been the singer's 41st birthday and featured previously unseen footage of her.

Fans watched the film in cinemas across the UK and Ireland, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts.

"Cheryl’s speech was a very courageous to do, as she must be still coming to terms with losing Sarah. I know they wanted the occasion to be a real celebration of their friendship, so it must have been lovely for them all to be together doing that," one fan commented.

Another added: "I sobbed from start to end. Sarah will never be forgotten.

The event was also attended by Sarah's mother Marie, who said she was "overwhelmed" by the support shown by fans.

"It was an incredible evening," she added. "All the girls were amazing, and the film was a beautiful tribute to Sarah.

Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2020 and underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy. However, in March 2021, she announced that the cancer had spread to other parts of her body.

She died in her sleep on 5th September 2021, with her mother and close friends by her side.

The remaining members of Girls Aloud have vowed to continue Sarah's legacy, with Cheryl saying that she will "always be in our hearts".

Nicola added: "Sarah was a true inspiration, and she will never be forgotten."
