Ancona won 2-1 in Ascoli on Sunday afternoon, moving four points clear of their hosts in the Serie D standings.
The visitors took the lead through Andrea Bianchini's penalty in the 10th minute, before doubling their advantage through Lorenzo Paolucci in the 25th minute.
Ascoli pulled a goal back through Riccardo Mastrilli in the 70th minute, but could not find an equaliser.
The result leaves Ascoli in fifth place in the Serie D standings, while Ancona move up to third place and close to within six points of leaders Recanatese.
