The Met Office has issued a cold weather alert for parts of the UK, warning of snow and ice in some areas. The alert is in place for England from 6pm on Tuesday until 6pm on Friday. The Met Office said there is a 90% probability of severe cold weather and icy conditions across most of England. The alert covers the East Midlands, East of England, London, North East England, North West England, South East England, South West England, West Midlands, Yorkshire and Humber.
The Met Office has also issued a yellow warning for snow and ice in parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. The warning is in place from 6pm on Tuesday until 10am on Wednesday. The Met Office said there is a 50% probability of snow and ice in these areas.
