Tulisa takes swipe at ITV and X Factor following I'm A Celebrity 'race row' backlash
The singer was accused of making racist comments during her time on the reality show
Tulisa has hit out at ITV and The X Factor following the backlash she received over alleged racist comments she made during her time on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
The singer was accused of making racist comments about fellow contestant, John Partridge, during her time on the show. She was later cleared of any wrongdoing by Ofcom, but the incident led to her being dropped from her role as a judge on The X Factor.
In a new interview, Tulisa has spoken out about the incident for the first time. She said that she was "heartbroken" by the backlash she received and that she felt "betrayed" by ITV.
"I felt like I was thrown under a bus by ITV," she said. "They didn't support me at all. They just left me to hang out to dry."
Tulisa also said that she felt the incident was used as an excuse to get rid of her from The X Factor.
"I think they were looking for an excuse to get rid of me," she said. "I was the only female judge and I was the only one who was not afraid to speak her mind."
ITV has declined to comment on Tulisa's claims.
The X Factor is a British television music competition to find new singing talent. The show is produced by FremantleMedia and airs on ITV.
Tulisa was a judge on The X Factor from 2011 to 2012. She was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger in 2013.
I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! is a British reality television show in which celebrities live together in a remote location and compete in challenges for food and other necessities.
Tulisa was a contestant on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2014. She was the eighth celebrity to be eliminated from the show.
