Swindon Town boss Ian Holloway claims training ground 'haunted'
Swindon Town boss Ian Holloway says he believes the club's training ground is haunted.
Holloway, who took over as manager of the League Two club in November 2020, made the claim after a number of strange incidents at the club's Liddington training ground.
Holloway said he has heard noises and seen shadows at the training ground, and that some of his players have also experienced strange things.
"I've heard noises, I've seen shadows, I've seen things move," Holloway said.
"I've had players come to me and say they've seen things as well.”
Holloway said he does not know what is causing the strange incidents, but he believes the training ground is haunted.
"I don't know what it is, but I believe it's haunted," Holloway said.
Holloway's claims have been met with skepticism by some, but the Swindon manager insists that he is telling the truth.
"I'm not making this up," Holloway said.
"I'm not a superstitious person, but I believe there's something going on at that training ground.”
If Holloway's claims are true, it would not be the first time that a football club has been linked to paranormal activity.
In 2009, former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp claimed that the club's White Hart Lane stadium was haunted by the ghost of a former player.
And in 2016, former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson claimed that the club's Old Trafford stadium was haunted by the ghost of a former manager.
Whether or not Swindon Town's training ground is actually haunted is a matter of debate, but Holloway's claims have certainly added to the club's mystique.
