Ronnie O'Sullivan to make Crucible comeback after serving suspension
Ronnie O'Sullivan will make a return to the World Snooker Championship this year after serving a 20-month ban from the sport.
The Rocket tested positive for a banned substance in November 2022 and was subsequently suspended by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA).
O'Sullivan, 47, one of snooker's most charismatic and successful players, has a record seven world titles to his names.
O'Sullivan 'looking forward' to Crucible return
The Rocket, who has won 39 ranking titles during his career, said he was looking forward to returning to the sport's biggest stage.
"I can't wait to get back to the Crucible and play in front of the fans again," he said.
"It's been a tough few months, but I'm feeling good and I'm confident that I can challenge for the title."
O'Sullivan the favourite to win the World Championship
O'Sullivan is the favourite to win the World Championship, ahead of Judd Trump and Mark Selby.
The tournament takes place at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England, from April 15 to May 1.
O'Sullivan has won the world title seven times, most recently in 2020.
Expert analysis
Neil Foulds, a former world champion, believes O'Sullivan can win the title again.
"Ronnie is still the best player in the world," Foulds said.
"He's got the experience and the know-how to win the World Championship again."
