On 15th September 2023, Parochus of Cenesi, Albenga, parochial vicar of the Parish of Guglielmo Borghetti, has been found dead in his bedroom. The news was reported by the local media and has since been confirmed by the diocese of Albenga-Imperia.

The cause of death is still under investigation, but police do not suspect foul play. Cenesi had been suffering from heart problems for several years.

Cenesi was born in Albenga in 1952 and was ordained a priest in 1976. He served as parochial vicar in several parishes in the diocese before becoming pastor of Cenesi in 2004.

Cenesi's funeral will be held on Saturday, 17th September 2023, at the Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Cenesi.
