Palermo | Elevator Built by Relative Breaks: Two Women and Three Children Plunge Into the Void

The incident occurred in the Oreto district of Palermo.

The five victims, all members of the same family, were transported to the emergency room. Three children and a woman are in serious condition, while the other woman has lesser injuries.

The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.

The collapse occurred around 4:30 p.m. in a building located in Via Villareale, in the Oreto district of Palermo.

The five victims were using the elevator to go down to the ground floor when it suddenly collapsed, plummeting into the void from the third floor.

The victims were rescued by firefighters and paramedics and transported to the emergency room of the Villa Sofia Hospital in Palermo.

Three children, aged 12, 10 and 5, and a 30-year-old woman are in serious condition.

The other woman, aged 50, has less serious injuries.

The cause of the collapse is still under investigation.
