Murder investigation launched after two people killed
Police are investigating the deaths of two people in a house in south-east London.
The victims, a man and a woman, were found dead at the property in Plumstead on Tuesday night.
A murder investigation has been launched and a 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the deaths.
The victims have not yet been formally identified, but their next of kin have been informed.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: "Police were called at approximately 10.10pm on Tuesday, 22 November to reports of two people found unresponsive at a residential address in Plumstead.
"Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service. Inside the property, two people, a man and a woman, were found deceased.
"The next of kin of the deceased have been informed. Formal identification awaits."
"A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody at a south London police station.
"Enquiries continue."
