Two people have been killed in a double murder in Manchester.
The victims, a man and a woman, were found dead at a house in Cheetham Hill at around 5am on Monday, August 8.
Police have launched a murder investigation and are appealing for witnesses.
What happened?
At around 5am on Monday, August 8, police were called to a house in Cheetham Hill following reports of a disturbance.
Officers attended and found the bodies of a man and a woman inside the property.
The victims have been identified as a 25-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman.
What are the police saying?
Detective Superintendent Phil Reade, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “This is a tragic incident in which two young people have lost their lives.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have information about what happened to come forward.
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the Cheetham Hill area in the early hours of this morning.”
What are the next steps?
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out on the victims’ bodies to determine the cause of death.
Officers are also conducting house-to-house inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage in the area.
