Man arrested on suspicion of murder after two people stabbed in Manchester
Two people have been stabbed in Manchester city center, with one of the victims later dying in hospital.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two people were stabbed in Manchester city center on Saturday night.
The victims, a man and a woman, were attacked on Oldham Street at around 9pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
A 28-year-old man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of murder.
Detective Chief Inspector Gina Brennand, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “This was a horrific incident that has resulted in the tragic loss of a young man’s life.
“Our thoughts are with the victims’ families and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
“We are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and I would urge anyone who witnessed the attack, or who has any information that could assist our investigation, to contact us as soon as possible.”
