Lazio, Guendouzi shock: "Serie A has a high level, just look at the top 8 of the standings..."
The Frenchman is impressed by the quality of the Italian league and believes that Lazio can compete for the title.
Mattia Zaccagni scored a brace as Lazio beat Sassuolo 2-0 on Monday to move up to fourth in the Serie A standings. The victory was Lazio's fifth in a row in all competitions and Guendouzi was impressed by the quality of the opposition.
"Sassuolo are a good team and they made it difficult for us, but we showed great character and determination to win the game," he said. "Serie A is a very competitive league and there are no easy games. You have to be at your best every week if you want to win."
Guendouzi also praised the work of Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri.
"He's a great coach and he's helped me a lot since I arrived at Lazio," he said. "He's a very demanding coach, but he also knows how to get the best out of his players."
Lazio are now just four points behind leaders Napoli and Guendouzi believes that they can challenge for the title.
"We have a good team and we're playing well at the moment," he said. "We believe that we can win the Scudetto and we're going to give it our all to achieve that goal."
Lazio's next game is against Salernitana on Sunday and Guendouzi is confident that they can extend their winning run.
"We're in good form and we're full of confidence," he said. "We know that Salernitana will be a tough opponent, but we're determined to win the game."
