Kailash Gahlot Resigns from Delhi Cabinet, AAP Blames BJP
Delhi Minister Kailash Gahlot has resigned from his post, amidst allegations of corruption by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the BJP of attempting to destabilize the Delhi government by targeting its ministers with false allegations.
Gahlot, who held the portfolios of Transport, Information and Technology, and Law, submitted his resignation to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday.
In his resignation letter, Gahlot said he was stepping down to protect the dignity of his office and the AAP.
He also said he was confident that he would be cleared of the allegations against him.
The BJP has welcomed Gahlot's resignation, saying it is a victory for the people of Delhi.
The party has alleged that Gahlot was involved in corruption in the procurement of buses for the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).
The AAP has denied these allegations, saying they are politically motivated.
Chief Minister Kejriwal has said that he stands by Gahlot and believes that he is innocent.
He has also accused the BJP of trying to destabilize the Delhi government by targeting its ministers.
Gahlot's resignation is a major setback for the AAP, which has been facing a series of challenges in recent months.
The party has been criticized for its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and for its alleged involvement in corruption.
The BJP has been trying to capitalize on these challenges, and Gahlot's resignation is likely to give the party further ammunition to attack the AAP.
