Girls Aloud's Kimberley Walsh shares touching tribute to Sarah Harding on her birthday
Kimberley Walsh has shared a touching tribute to her late Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding on what would have been her 40th birthday.
Harding died in September 2021 after a battle with breast cancer.
Taking to Instagram, Walsh shared a photo of herself and Harding with the caption: "Happy birthday to my beautiful friend Sarah. I miss you everyday but today I'll be thinking of you extra hard. I know you'll be having a party up there."
Walsh's post was met with an outpouring of love and support from fans, who also took to social media to share their own tributes to Harding.
One fan wrote: "Sarah was such a beautiful soul. I can't believe she's been gone for a year. She's always in our hearts."
Another fan said: "I'm so grateful for the memories we have of Sarah. She was a true icon and an inspiration to so many people."
Harding was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2020 and underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy. However, the cancer spread to other parts of her body and she died on September 5, 2021.
Walsh and Harding were close friends and bandmates for over 20 years. They were part of the girl group Girls Aloud, which was formed on the reality TV show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002.
Girls Aloud went on to become one of the most successful girl groups of all time, with six number-one singles and four platinum-selling albums.
Harding's death was a devastating loss for her fans, friends, and family. She was a talented singer, dancer, and actress, and she will be deeply missed.
