Gazzetta: Quiet evening for Maignan while Theo's performance deemed insufficient
Milan held by Cremonese despite late onslaught
Cremonese held AC Milan to a goalless draw at the Stadio Giovanni Zini on Tuesday evening, frustrating the Rossoneri's hopes of closing the gap on Serie A leaders Napoli.
The visitors dominated possession and created a number of chances, but they were unable to find a way past Cremonese goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.
Milan's best chance of the game fell to Rafael Leao in the second half, but the Portuguese forward's shot was well saved by Carnesecchi.
Cremonese also had their chances, with David Okereke going close on a couple of occasions.
The draw leaves Milan in fourth place in the Serie A table, three points behind Napoli.
Maignan has quiet evening
Mike Maignan had a quiet evening in goal for Milan, making just one save of note in the second half.
The French goalkeeper was protected by a well-organized defense, which limited Cremonese to just a few clear-cut chances.
Maignan's performance was in contrast to that of Theo Hernandez, who had a difficult evening at left-back.
Theo's performance deemed insufficient
Theo Hernandez was one of Milan's worst performers on the night, struggling to contain Cremonese's David Okereke.
The French defender was caught out of position on a number of occasions, and was lucky not to concede a penalty in the first half.
Hernandez's performance will be a concern for Milan manager Stefano Pioli, who has been relying on the defender to provide attacking threat from left-back.
