Don Davide's First Mass in Bastia
Local priest celebrates first mass in new parish
Fr. Davide Tonini celebrated his first mass in Bastia Umbra on Sunday, September 11th.
The church was packed with parishioners who came to welcome their new pastor. Fr. Davide was ordained a priest in June of this year and has been serving as a parochial vicar at St. Mary's Church in Perugia. He is originally from Bastia Umbra and is excited to be serving his hometown parish.
In his homily, Fr. Davide spoke about the importance of community and the role of the Church in bringing people together. He said, "The Church is a family, and we are all called to be members of this family. We are called to love one another, to support one another, and to pray for one another."
Fr. Davide also spoke about the importance of faith. He said, "Faith is the foundation of our lives. It is what gives us hope and strength. It is what helps us to face the challenges of life and to live our lives with joy."
The mass was followed by a reception in the parish hall. Fr. Davide greeted the parishioners and enjoyed getting to know them better. He is looking forward to serving the Bastia Umbra community and to helping them grow in their faith.
