"Didn't Leave Due To Any Pressure": Kailash Gahlot On Switch From AAP To BJP

Former Delhi minister Kailash Gahlot joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday, saying he was impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the party's nationalist ideology.

Gahlot, who was the AAP's transport minister, said he had not left the party due to any pressure but because he felt that the BJP was better placed to serve the people of Delhi.

Gahlot's switch to the BJP is a significant development, as he is a prominent figure in Delhi politics and is considered close to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.

His move is likely to further weaken the AAP, which has been facing a series of setbacks in recent months, including the loss of several key leaders.

The BJP, on the other hand, will be hoping that Gahlot's addition will help it to strengthen its position in Delhi, where it is the main opposition party.

In a statement, Gahlot said that he was "deeply impressed" by Modi's leadership and the BJP's "nationalist ideology".

"I believe that the BJP is the only party that can truly serve the people of Delhi and take the city to new heights," he said.

Gahlot's comments were echoed by BJP leaders, who welcomed him into the party.

"Kailash Gahlot is a welcome addition to the BJP," said Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta.

"His experience and expertise will be valuable to the party as we work to serve the people of Delhi."
