Coppa Davis, the 8 finalists parade - the photos of the gala dinner
The 8 teams that will compete in the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga from November 21 to 27 have been announced.
The teams are:
- Australia
- Canada
- Croatia
- France
- Germany
- Italy
- Netherlands
- Spain
The draw for the group stage will take place on September 29.
The teams will be divided into two groups of four, and each team will play the other three teams in its group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. The semifinals and final will be played on November 26 and 27.
The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis.
It is contested annually between teams from the nations of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The competition began in 1900 as the International Lawn Tennis Challenge, and was renamed the Davis Cup in 1946 in honor of Dwight F. Davis, the founder of the competition.
The United States has won the Davis Cup a record 32 times, followed by France (10 titles) and Great Britain (9 titles).
