Awkward moment I'm A Celebrity's Dean McCullough makes Rebecca Vardy reference to Coleen Rooney in their first meeting

Rebecca Vardy and Coleen Rooney's infamous Wagatha Christie row was referenced on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! on Wednesday night.

The moment came as the two contestants, who are meeting for the first time, were introduced to each other by Ant and Dec.

In 2019, Coleen Rooney accused Rebekah Vardy of leaking stories about her to the press — something Rebekah has strenuously denied.

Ant and Dec wasted no time in asking about the incident, saying to Rebecca that Coleen had sent her “a lovely message to welcome you.”

Rebecca laughed uncomfortably and replied, "Yeah, very nice...thanks”.

She then added, with reference to Coleen's now infamous social media post about the incident: "...nice to meet you, Coleen."

Coleen was not present at the meet and greet as she is still isolating in the hotel after testing positive for Covid on Sunday.

However, she is expected to join her fellow campmates in the main camp on Thursday night.

The moment was met with a mixture of laughter and awkwardness from the other celebrities, with many of them clearly unsure how to react.

It remains to be seen whether the issue will be brought up again during the series, but it is sure to be a talking point among viewers.

It is surely not the last we will hear of it.
