A12 Closed At Dedham Near Essex And Suffolk Border
What Happened?
Friday saw a serious incident on the A12 in Dedham, Essex.
Essex Police and Highways England closed the A12 at Dedham near the Essex and Suffolk border.
Essex Police Official Statement
What they said
"Please avoid the area whilst emergency services are completing their work."
"Officers and emergency services are currently on scene following a road traffic collision on the A12 at Dedham."
"The road is currently closed in both directions and we ask that motorists avoid the area."
Highways England Statement
What they said
"The A12 is closed in both directions between J23 (Kelvedon) and J24 (Stanway) due to a serious collision."
Diversions In Place
Highways England confirmed diversions are in place:
Diversion Route
- Exit at J23 and follow the A120 towards Colchester.
- At the roundabout, at the end of the A120, take the A1124 towards Sudbury.
- Follow the A1124 to the junction with the A134.
- Take the A134 westbound towards Bury St Edmunds.
- At junction 42, follow the sign for the M11.
- Rejoin the A12 at J8.
